THE “QUEEN VICTORIA” PRESENTED IN THE PRESENCE OF THE PRIME MINISTER ROMANO PRODI
Today at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Venice-Marghera there was the presentation of the cruise ship “Queen Victoria”, built for Cunard Line (Carnival Group), a well-established British company which boasts a history of almost 170 years and a glorious tradition of transatlantic services.

THE “CAIO DUILIO” LAUNCHED AT RIVA TRIGOSO
Today at Fincantieri’s shipyard at Riva Trigoso (Genoa) there was the launch of the destroyer, the “Caio Duilio”, the second of two vessels ordered by the Italian Navy from Fincantieri within the “Orizzonte” programme, which involves cooperation between Italy and France for the construction of two vessels for the fleet of each national Navy.

€ 500 MILLION AGREEMENT TO BUILD THE “QUEEN ELIZABETH”
Fincantieri and Cunard Line (Carnival Group) have reached an agreement to build a new super-luxury cruise ship of 92,000 gross tonnes, worth approximately 500 million euros. Following the approval of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, the new vessel will be named the “Queen Elizabeth”.

"TALLINK" IS LAUNCHED AT ANCONA SHIPYARD
Today at Fincantieri’s shipyard at Ancona there was the launch of the “Superstar”, the new generation, high performance cruise ferry ordered by the Estonian owner Tallink, one of the most important operators in the Baltic Sea. Tallink runs regular service lines, mini-cruises and cargo transport along the main routes between Estonia and Sweden and Finland.

FINCANTIERI: BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVES RESULTS FOR FIRST HALF 2007 CONFIRMING THE POSITIVE PERFORMANCE OF THE GROUP
Value of Production and Gross Operating Margin improved compared with 1H 2006. Net result at 26.5 million Euro in line with 1H 2006. New orders at record level: 2.7 billion Euro (+ 34% over 1H 2006) and order book at 10.6 billion Euro ensuring the saturation of the production capacity for at least the next three years.

CARNIVAL SPLENDOR LAUNCHED AT GENOVA
Today at Sestri Ponente shipyard there was the ceremony to mark the technical launch of the Carnival Splendor, a passenger ship due for delivery in Spring 2008 for Carnival Cruise Lines, the U.S. brand of the Carnival Group, the world’s leading operator in the cruise sector. Present at the ceremony were the Director of the shipyard, Attilio Dapelo, and, representing the owner, the Vice President of Carnival Corporation, Richard Haslam-Jones.

OCEANOGRAPHIC SHIP FOR INDIA LAUNCHED AT MUGGIANO
Today at Fincantieri’s Muggiano shipyard (La Spezia) there was the launch of the “Sagar Nidhi” (“Pearl of the Oceans”), an oceanographic vessel ordered for the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Madras. Present at the ceremony were the Indian Minister for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Kapil Sibal, and the Undersecretary Right Honourable Lorenzo Forcieri. Fincantieri was represented by the company’s Executive Vice President Vessel Business Unit, Giuseppe Sassi.

THE “CRUISE ROMA” IS LAUNCHED AT CASTELLAMMARE DI STABIA
Today at Castellammare di Stabia shipyard there was the launch of the “Cruise Roma”, a ferry ordered from Fincantieri by the ship owner Industria Armamento Meridionale (INARME), Grimaldi Group Naples, a world leader in short sea shipping. Delivery is scheduled for the end of the year.

FINCANTIERI WILL COMPLETE AND OUTFIT “SCARABEO 8” FOR SAIPEM
Saipem, a member of the Eni group, has asked Fincantieri to complete and fit out the drilling platform “Scarabeo 8”. The work will be carried out at Palermo shipyard, thereby guaranteeing a full workload for the yard’s direct staff and good levels of employment in the related supply industry.

FINCANTIERI: NEW CRUISE SHIP FOR HAL
Carnival Group has taken up an option to build a new 86,000 ton-cruise ship worth 425 million Euros for its brand Holland America Line. The ship, which will be built at Marghera shipyard for delivery in autumn 2010, will have 1,050 cabins (85% with a sea view and 67% with a private balcony), for a passenger capacity of 2,100.

The Ventura - the largest British cruise ship - is launched in Monfalcone
Today at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone, there was the launch of the largest cruise ship ever built for the British market: the Ventura. Scheduled for delivery in spring 2008 she is set to become the flagship of P&O Cruises, a brand in the Carnival Group, the world’s leading cruise operator.
Present at the ceremony were: David Dingle, Managing Director of P&O Cruises and Carnival UK, and Enrico Buschi, General Director of Fincantier’s merchant ships business unit.

Shareholders approve 2006 financial statement and pay dividend Increases in profit (+21%), production value (+9.6%) and order book (+31%)
Meeting today in Trieste, Fincantieri’s Shareholders have approved the financial statement for the year ending 31st December 2006, which features significant improvements over the previous year, with a net profit of 58.7 million Euros (+ 21% compared to 48.5 million in 2005). Earnings before income tax at 115.7 million Euros (+ 15.9% compared to 99.8 million in 2005).

The Board of Directors reviews the proposed financial statement 2006
• The Board of Directors of Fincantieri has approved the proposed financial statements at 31.12.2006 which reported all financials significantly improved compared to 2005: value of production at 2,431.8 Euro million (up 9.6% compared to 2,217.8 million in 2005); gross operating margin at 156.4 Euro million (up 4.5% compared to 149.7 million in 2005); operating result at 128.4 Euro million (up 16.7% compared to 110 million in 2005); earnings before income tax at 115.7 Euro million (up 15.9% compared to 99.8 million in 2005); net profit at 58.7 Euro million (up 21% compared to 48.5 million in 2005); net financial position with a credit balance of 173 Euro million (up 17.5% compared to 147.2 million in 2005)

FINCANTIERI LAYS THE KEEL OF ITS FIRST MEGA YACHT
Today, at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Muggiano-La Spezia, there was the keel laying ceremony for the company’s first mega yacht which was ordered in May last year. Present at the ceremony were the Undersecretary for Defence, the Rt. Hon. Giovanni Lorenzo Forcieri, Rt. Hon. Senators Luigi Grillo and Egidio Banti, Rt. Hon. Andrea Orlando, the Prefect, Vincenzo Santoro, the Mayor, Giorgio Pagano, the President of the Province, Giuseppe Ricciardi, the representative of the owner, Nicholas Baker and the Chief Executive Officer of Fincantieri, Giuseppe Bono.

FINCANTIERI, Marghera shipyard delivers the “CARNIVAL FREEDOM”
Today at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard there was the delivery ceremony for the cruise ship “Carnival Freedom”, ordered by the world’s leading cruise operator, Carnival Group, for the brand Carnival Cruise Lines. Present at the ceremony, representing the Government, was the Vice Minister of Transport Cesare de Piccoli. Fincantieri was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Giuseppe Bono, and Carnival Cruise Lines was represented by its Executive Vice President, Roberto Martinoli, who is responsible for operations.

FINCANTIERI JOINS UP WITH TURKISH YARD TO WIN TENDER FOR 4 PATROL VESSELS
Fincantieri, having agreed an industrial partnership with RMK Marine shipyard (KOC Group) of Tuzla (Istanbul), has succeeded in winning a bid called by the Turkish Authority for the Defence Industries for the construction of four patrol vessels for the local Coast Guards.

FINCANTIERI TO BUILD € 535-MILLION CRUISE SHIP FOR P&O CRUISES
Fincantieri and the American shipowner Carnival Corporation & plc have reached an agreement to build a new 116,000-ton cruise ship worth 535 million euros, for the British brand P&O Cruises. The vessel, which externally will be similar to P&O Cruises "Ventura" (which is scheduled to enter service in spring 2008), will have a passenger capacity of 3,100 and will also be built at Monfalcone shipyard with delivery scheduled in spring 2010.
