FINCANTIERI: CARNIVAL CONFIRMS OPTION FOR CRUISE SHIP WORTH € 565 MILLION
Carnival Corporation & plc today announced that it has exercised an option for a new 130,000-ton ship for its Carnival Cruise Lines brand at an estimated all-in cost of 565 million euros. The new vessel, which will have 3,652 lower passenger berths, as her sister ship which is already on order (delivery due in autumn 2009), will also be built by Fincantieri at its Monfalcone shipyard, for delivery in summer 2010.

COSTA CROCIERE CONFIRMS ITS OPTION WITH FINCANTIERI FOR A NEW 92,700 GROSS TONNAGE SHIP. A FLEET OF 15 SHIPS BY 2010.
The new ship, which is due for delivery in March 2010, will be the second of 2 sister ships commissioned from Fincantieri by the Italian cruise line. This brings to 4 the number of cruise vessels ordered by Costa from Fincantieri, with a total investment worth almost 2 billion euros.

THE “FRAM” LAUNCHED IN MONFALCONE
Today at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard there was the launch of the “Fram”, ordered by the Norwegian owner Hurtigruten Group.
The Group, a market leader in Norway, has a fleet of 54 vessels: fast ferries and ships for passengers, 11 vessels for short sea shipping, known as Hurtigruten or Coastal Express, and two cruise ships.

HARTMANN GROUP ORDERS TWO MULTIPURPOSE
OFFSHORE SUPPLY AND TOWAGE VESSELS FROM FINCANTIERI
Fincantieri has gained an order from Hartmann Logistik GmbH to build two multipurpose Anchor Handling, Tug & Supply Vessels (AHTS) with delivery scheduled for December 2008 and February 2009, respectively, plus an option for further two.
Hartmann Logistik GmbH is the Hartmann Group company active in the Offshore Industry, which is headed by Dr. Niels Hartmann, son of the founder of the Group.

FINCANTIERI: FIRST HALF 2006, POSITIVE RESULTS CONFIRMED
Fincantieri’s Board of Directors have met today to examine the half year report which reports positive results with a consolidated pre-tax profit of 60 million Euros, up on the 51.2 million Euros in the same period 2005, despite the difficulties arising from -international scenario with a weakening of the dollar and ongoing tension in raw materials base markets.

FINCANTIERI TO BUILD FOUR PATROL VESSELS FOR THE IRAQI NAVY
Fincantieri has won an order worth over 80 million euros for the construction of four patrol vessels for the Iraqi Navy. The ships will be delivered within the first six months of 2009, phased at three months intervals one from the other.

Today, at Fincantieri’s shipyard at Monfalcone, there was the Keel Laying ceremony for the superliner “Ventura”, on order from Carnival Corporation & plc, the cruise industry’s world leading group, for P&O Cruises. Delivery is scheduled for spring 2008. David Dingle, Managing Director of P&O Cruises and Carnival UK, and the shipyard’s director, Carlo De Marco, attended the ceremony.

FINCANTIERI: MAXI ORDER FOR TWO SHIPS FROM COSTA CROCIERE
Fincantieri has won an order from Costa Crociere for two ships (one option) worth 840 million euros to the owner. The 92,700-ton vessels will be built at Marghera (Venice) shipyard with delivery due in spring 2009 and autumn 2010. Each ship will have a passenger capacity of 2,260 with 1,130 cabins available, of which 772 with a private balcony (68% of the total).

THE “EMERALD PRINCESS” IS LAUNCHED IN MONFALCONE
Today, at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone there was the launch of the cruise ship the “Emerald Princess”, ordered by Princess Cruises of the Carnival Group. The new ship, which is a sister ship of the “Caribbean” and the “Crown”, delivered to the same owner in March 2004 and on 27th May 2006 respectively, will enter service in Spring next year.

Today, at Fincantieri’s shipyard at Monfalcone, there was the handover ceremony for the passenger ship, the “Crown Princess”, ordered by Carnival Corporation, world leading company in the cruise industry for P&O Princess Cruises. As her sister ship the “Caribbean Princess” which was also built at Monfalcone and delivered in 2004, the “Crown Princess” is a development of the ships of the “Grand Class” series (the “Grand Princess”, “Golden Princess” and “Star Princess”, 109,000 gt, delivered in 1998, 2001 and 2002 respectively).

FINCANTIERI SIGNS ITS FIRST MEGA-YACHT NEWBUILD CONTRACT
Fincantieri has signed a contract for the construction of a seven- deck motor yacht of over 130 metres in length, which today would be the second largest privately owned modern yacht in the world. Last year, Fincantieri announced its entrance into the mega yacht industry and shortly afterwards created Fincantieri Yachts, a dedicated business division with an in-house team of professionals.

FINCANTIERI: CHRISTENING OF THE FAST FERRY “GOTLANDIA II”
Today at Fincantieri’s Muggiano shipyard, there was the christening ceremony of the fast ferry “Gotlandia II”, ordered in June 2004 by the Swedish owner Rederi A.B. Gotland for its Destination Gotland subsidiary. The ship, which was built at Fincantieri’s Riva Trigoso shipyard and fitted out at Muggiano, was completed in just 14 months from keel laying to delivery.

The Board of Directors reviews the proposed financial statement 2005:
Net profit of 48.5 million euros, dividend to be paid
The Board of Directors of Fincantieri has approved the proposed financial statement for the year ending 31st December 2005 which reports a net profit of 48.5 million euros. The Board has decided to propose to the Shareholders the payment of a dividend of 10.1 million euros, equivalent to 3% of the share capital.

FINCANTIERI UNVEILS NEW CONCEPT DESIGN BY TIM HEYWOOD
At the end of 2004 Fincantieri announced at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show its entrance into the mega-yacht business and its strategic alliance with Benetti. Since then, the two companies, supported by an ideal level of mutual understanding and cooperation, have effectively worked together, actively complementing each other strength, starting joint research, development and training programs, defining standards and processes, selecting the key strategic suppliers, actively operating on the market with some important negotiations, and, last but not least, developing new concepts designs to be then tailored to the specific needs of the owner.

Fincantieri awarded contract in India to build an Oceanographic Ship.
Office to open in New Delhi soon.
Fincantieri has signed a contract with the National Institute of Ocean Technology in Madras, India to build an oceanographic ship. The order, worth about 40 million euros, has been won by Fincantieri despite fierce international competition. The ship is due to be finished in 20 months from the moment work starts, expected within this month.

Today, at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Marghera (Venice) there was the presentation of the passenger ship “Noordam”, ordered by Holland America Line, a brand of Carnival Corporation & plc, the world’s leading cruise operator. Representing Fincantieri there was the Chairman, Corrado Antonini, the Deputy Chairman, Roberto Tana, and the Chief Executive Officer, Giuseppe Bono while Carnival Corporation & plc was represented by its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Micky Arison and Holland America Line by its President and Chief Executive Officer, Stein Kruse.
