The U.S. Mission

Giuseppe Bono and his trusted team members have just carried out a mission in the USA.
First stop Washington D.C., Italian Embassy. Here, in the presence of the Ambassador Giulio Terzi di Sant’Agata, the Fincantieri delegation met many political and military authorities. Just to name a few the Governor of Wisconsin James Doyle, the Senators Richard Shelby (Alabama) and Bill Nelson (Florida), as well as several U.S. Congress Members and Pentagon Representatives.
“The U.S. citizens – said the Ambassador – do really appreciate the vision, the commitment and the determination of Fincantieri, as well as the confidence in the United States even in these recession times”. Of the same idea is the Governor Doyle: ”The people of Wisconsin are your friends, that’s for sure – he said – also because, thanks to you, the shipyards are reaching the forefront of technology and will soon be able to successfully compete and win important contracts”.
Besides, this was announced right in the business plan for the U.S. shipyards of Fincantieri Marine Group, presented the day after in Marinette by Mr Bono himself: the aim is to keep on investing in order to improve the technology and hold the production costs down, so that we can win new important orders both in the civilian and in the Navy field. This is the case of the prestigious Littoral Combat Ships, 51 units to be built by 2020 to the tune of 18 billion dollars.
From the Great Lakes region then, the Fincantieri delegation flew to Miami to participate in the Seatrade Cruise Shipping, the most important fair of the cruise field, to be held from March 15 to March 18.
